About
For over 20 years, I have been exploring the intersection of imagination and craftsmanship through oil painting. My distinct style came during the solitude of the COVID-19 pandemic, a time when I was able to deeply connect with my creative process and refine my vision.

At the heart of my practice lies a fascination with the surreal, where I combine animals, food, and decorative elements in playful, yet contemplative ways. Each painting is a labor of love, involving hours of planning, set-up, drawing, and layering of paint. These motifs emerge from a desire to explore both the absurdity and beauty of the world around us. Animals, with their symbolic richness, serve as protagonists in my compositions, often juxtaposed with unexpected objects like fruits, flowers, or vintage-inspired details. This fusion invites viewers to rethink everyday items, transforming them into narratives that are both whimsical and thought-provoking. Through this process, I hope to offer a sense of escape and delight.

I grew up in Rock Hill, South Carolina, and later moved to New York State to pursue a BA in studio art at Hamilton College. After 11 years in New York City, I relocated to Charlottesville, Virginia, where I now live and work in the Belmont neighborhood. Since January 2020, I have been an associate artist at Charlottesville’s McGuffey Art Center, where I continue to develop my practice and connect with a vibrant community of artists.
